I Was in a geology class one day when the lecturer was to teach something about minerals. He began to explain the formation of the various minerals we have today such as gold, silver, lead crystals, etc. Interestingly, they all come from one source - the magma . For these minerals to evolve the magma have to undergo a gradual process of crystallization which usually take very long time. However, if the magma suddenly erupts unto the earth crust, it abruptly solidifies immediately due to a rapid reduction in temperature. When this happen, ROCK (which we see around) is formed.
